THE WALL OF US

We bought this old chalet going on 7 years and have been living here full time for the last 4. The first time I saw the listing, the photos were stretched but even with the warped photos, I thought it looked like a dollhouse and I wanted to see it.

After our first walk through I knew this was our forever home. It’s going to take a lot for me to leave this old chalet. It’s where we got married and it’s where we brought Hunter home. It’s definitely special to me.

So little by little, we’ve been upgrading. Little kitchen upgrade here, new floors there and last month we put up our gallery wall.

To be honest, I had a vision of a full wall of photos with big frames and I was a little uncertain as we were putting them up. But once the photos were in, I was absolutely in love. Now I’m kicking myself for taking so long.

I want to be as helpful as I can here but the truth is, it’s all in the levelling.

The IKEA frames didn’t have one particular spot to hang like a wire. Instead, you use the ledge which is great for levelling and then sliding the frames to fit under each other. The frames are also light since it’s it’s made of wood and plastic instead of wood and glass. With a 5 year old running around, I’m not worried he’ll knock one over and hurt himself.

Take a look at the photos and if you have any questions, go ahead and pop that into the comment area below and I’ll do my best to answer.

Also a little side note the colour of the door is All Dressed Up by Beauti Tone found at Home Hardware.
