Spooky Dinner Is Served // 2021 Edition

The planning paid off! I am thrilled with how everything came together for Spooky Dinner this year.

Take a peak below and don't forget to pin these ideas and follow me on Pinterest.

My son with our 12 foot tall skeleton. What a trip that was putting that guy together. I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to taking him down.

The first thing I did mid September (yes I am that kind of person) was pull out all our Halloween dishes and decorations. Time to swap out the regular glasses for spooky looking ones.

Now this took me the most time to do. It was easy to staple the hands to the ceiling but making the skeletons look like they were crawling was the hardest part. I eventually learned to support their hips with fishing line so that the knees bent and then they looked like they were crawling.

Just like any other event, lighting is key to Spooky Dinner. I have some fire and ghost projector lights I bought from Canadian Tire on the walls and ceiling and for the first time (cause Hunter is old enough to not touch them) candles.

Be sure to turn down all the lights and play your favourite spooky music.

Decorating the mantel was a lot of fun this year. I popped some light pucks where they probably shouldn't go but it was all in the same of spooky.

This is where you can get creative with the table setting. This year I was inspired by vampire teeth holding a napkin and made it my own. I love how it turned out.

Spray paint the dollar store Halloween decor black and they will infinitely look more expensive.

Don't forget to add those little touches like sticking creepy crawlies coming out of the sockets. Simple but so effective. I used white sticky tac from the dollar store to stick them to the wall. Easy to set up and easy to take down.

This little app has to be the easiest to create. It's jerky in a bowl, you can't get much easier than that. Serve your guests some monster scabs. Yuck

Now don't forget the drinks. I bought these urine sample cups from a medical supplier and filled them with apple juice. I also bought this medical tray from Amazon to up the grossness.

Now if the thought of drinking pee isn't making you warm and fuzzy then maybe some poison might do the trick. I bought a few of these tumblers from the dollar store with different slogans on the glass. Big fan.

Now the actual dinner. Ravioli with monster eyes and garlic bread.

The ravioli was store bought and each package came with bats and ghosts.

Making the monster eye balls was easy. Mix ground meat with bread crumbs and your fave spices and insert an inch long piece of mozzarella cheese rectangle and top with and sliced slice, bake at 450 for 15 or so minutes and voila. Dinner is done. Don't forget the parmesan cheese and garlic bread.

It was a huge success and I can't wait to do it all again next year.
